Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This policy covers the personal information TrueFix Charlotte (called “we” or “us” below) handles through this website, our repair-request and text-sign-up forms, and the service visits that follow. We repair appliances in homes and businesses around Charlotte, in North Carolina and South Carolina. Most of what we collect is simply what a technician needs to find you and to know what is wrong with the machine.

What we collect

From you, when you fill in a form, text us or talk to us:

  • your name, phone number and email address;
  • the service address and its ZIP code;
  • which appliance needs work, the brand, a model number when you can find it, and a description of the fault;
  • anything you add in the notes, such as gate codes, parking instructions or when you are home;
  • a record that you ticked a consent box, with the date and time.

Automatically, when you browse the site:

  • pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and the site that sent you, gathered by Google Analytics through cookies;
  • a note that a call link was tapped and from which page, so we can tell which pages people use.

During a visit the technician may write down the appliance’s serial number, the parts used and what was found. We don’t ask for Social Security numbers, and this website does not take card payments.

Why we use it

  • to call or text you back about your request and set up a visit;
  • to send confirmations, reminders and updates about that visit;
  • to order the right part for your model and keep a record of the work;
  • to answer questions about a repair afterward, and to bill for it;
  • to see which pages are useful and fix the ones that aren’t;
  • to meet legal, tax and record-keeping duties and to protect against fraud or misuse.

We do not sell personal information, and we don’t give it to other companies so they can market to you.

Who else sees it

A handful of service providers process information for us, only to do their part of the job:

  • our website host, which runs the site and receives form submissions;
  • the email service that delivers booking notices to us and confirmations to you;
  • the scheduling and customer-records software where appointments are kept;
  • the text-messaging platform that carries appointment texts;
  • Google, for site analytics;
  • the map service that draws our service-area map, which sees your IP address when the map loads.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect people or property, or if the business is sold or reorganized. A buyer would have to keep treating what we collected the way this policy describes.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics sets cookies that let us count visits and see how people move around the site. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works without them.

Text messages

If you agree to texts on one of our forms, we use your number for messages about your service request: confirmations, reminders, scheduling changes, updates when a technician is heading your way, and replies to your questions. These are not sales messages. How many you get depends on the job, and your carrier may charge its usual message and data rates. Reply STOP to stop them or HELP for help. You never have to accept texts in order to hire us. We do not share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. The full program terms are on our SMS terms page.

Email

Emails about a repair you asked for are part of the service. If we ever send promotional email, it will identify us, include a working unsubscribe link, and follow the federal CAN-SPAM Act. Unsubscribing from promotions won’t stop messages about an open job.

How long we keep it

Job records stay on file while they are useful for follow-up questions about a repair and for as long as tax and business-record rules require us to keep them. Records of text consent and opt-outs are kept so we can show we respected your choice. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or strip out what identifies you.

Keeping it safe

Forms on this site travel over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Inside the business, only the people who schedule and carry out repairs can open customer records. No system is completely secure, so we can’t promise that information will never be exposed. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the North Carolina Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division as the state Identity Theft Protection Act requires (N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-65), and follow any other notice law that applies.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We may need to confirm it’s really you first, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep, such as invoices. You can stop texts at any time with STOP. Residents of some states have additional rights under their own laws. Our privacy rights page explains how we handle those requests, and the do-not-sell page covers sale and sharing.

Children

The site is meant for adults arranging repairs. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13, and we will delete it if we learn that we have.

Changes

When this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top. If a change would significantly alter how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you before it takes effect.
