What a home visit looks like

  1. Send the details

Use the form above. Make, model number and the symptom are the most useful things to include.

  2. Diagnosis at home

The technician checks the appliance where it's installed and finds the fault.

  3. Explanation and quote

The failed part is explained and priced, with a frank view on whether fixing it makes sense.

  4. Your decision

The repair goes ahead only after you approve the price, with parts matched to your model.

The homes we work in

Housing across the county ranges from early-1900s bungalows to new townhome rows. Where the appliance sits affects how it fails and how the repair is done.

Older houses

In Dilworth, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood and other older neighborhoods, appliances often sit in kitchens and laundry spaces carved out of rooms meant for something else. Tight fits and older wiring or gas connections are part of the job.

Two-story homes

Many newer houses in Ballantyne, Steele Creek, Huntersville and Mint Hill put the laundry upstairs. Water from a leaking washer up there finds its way into the room beneath, so close the supply valves and unplug the machine at the first sign of it.

Townhomes & HOA communities

Some communities have rules about gate entry, parking or contractor hours. Let us know when you book, and we'll schedule with them in mind.

Apartments & condos

Uptown and South End buildings often mean stacked laundry, a loading area, an elevator reservation or a check-in at the front desk. Tell us how your building handles visitors.

Lake homes & second homes

Houses around Lake Norman and Mountain Island Lake can sit empty for weeks. Appliances that stand idle, especially ice makers and water lines, are worth checking when you return.

Garages & crawl spaces

An unheated garage runs hot in summer and cold during winter freezes. Check the owner's manual for the temperature range a garage fridge or freezer is rated for.

Brands in Charlotte-area homes

We're independent, so we're not limited to one manufacturer. If your appliance is still under its maker's warranty, go to the manufacturer first.

FAQ

Questions about home repairs

Quick answers before you book. Anything else goes in the notes.

Ready to get it looked at?

Diagnosis in your home; you approve the price first.

Yes. An adult should be home to open the door and to say yes or no to the quote before work starts. If you are a tenant, check with your landlord about who approves and pays for repairs before the visit.

Yes. Mention every appliance when you book, with the model numbers if you have them, so the right time is set aside.

Turn off both water valves behind the washer and unplug it. Mop up what you can and check the ceiling below. Then book a visit, and do not run the washer until the leak has been found.

Yes. We repair appliances regardless of where they were bought. We are independent, so an appliance still under its maker's warranty should go to the maker first.

If it leaks, sparks, smells hot or trips the breaker, stop using it and cut the power at the plug or panel. With a refrigerator, keeping the doors shut buys the food time.

Something at home not working right?
