Repair work across the county
Anson County sits east of Union County, along the Pee Dee River, with South Carolina to the south. It was formed in 1750 and named for George Anson, a British admiral, and Wadesboro is its seat. It is mostly rural, with small towns strung along US 74 and farmland between them.
Our coverage here is the western end of the county: ZIP 28133 around Peachland and ZIP 28135 around Polkton, both in Lanesboro Township. Both ZIPs reach across the line into Union County, and every address in them is covered.
The visit is the same as anywhere else we work. A technician comes to the house, diagnoses the appliance, explains what failed and quotes the repair, and nothing is replaced until you agree to the price.
Peachland and Polkton
Peachland, incorporated in 1895, is named for a peach orchard that once stood there and covers about a square mile; US 74 runs through as a divided highway that bypasses its old business district. Polkton, incorporated in 1875, is named for its founder, Leonidas L. Polk, and is home to South Piedmont Community College's main campus.
Most homes in these two ZIPs are outside the town limits, on rural roads: older farmhouses, houses in the towns themselves, and newer homes on country lots. Both towns have houses on the National Register, Peachland's Barrett-Faulkner House and Polkton's Billy Horne Farm.
Rural homes and their appliances
Extra freezers and second refrigerators are a big part of rural kitchens, and many sit in carports, sheds or outbuildings where summer heat and winter cold affect how they run. Some homes are on a well, and sediment can slow washers, dishwashers and ice makers at their inlet screens.
Fuel varies from house to house: electric, propane, or natural gas where lines reach. Pee Dee Electric, a cooperative, is one of the electric suppliers in Anson County. After storms and ice that take down rural lines, generators belong outdoors, away from doors and windows, because of carbon monoxide.
The Pee Dee River side of the county
The county's eastern border follows the Pee Dee River, where Duke Energy's Blewett Falls dam has held back a lake since 1912. Union County draws part of its water from Blewett Falls Lake under an agreement with Anson County.
Our service in the county is limited to the two western ZIPs, 28133 and 28135. If your home is in Wadesboro, Lilesville, Morven or another Anson County town outside those ZIPs, it isn't in our service area.

No. Propane ranges, cooktops and dryers are repaired the same way as natural gas models, with fuel-specific orifices and regulator settings that the technician checks. If you smell gas, leave the house and call your propane supplier or 911 from outside.
Keep the doors shut. Per USDA guidance, a full freezer holds food safely for about 48 hours and a half-full one about a day, while an unopened refrigerator keeps food safe for about 4 hours. If the appliance doesn't cool properly once power returns, book a visit.
Usually, if there's a safe outlet and space to work around it. Mention the location when you book. The technician checks whether heat or cold in that spot is part of the problem, since many freezers aren't rated for unconditioned spaces.
