Terms of Service

Last updated: October 12, 2026

These terms apply when you use this website or ask TrueFix Charlotte (“we” or “us”), to repair an appliance. Sending a repair request or letting a technician start work means you accept them. If something written on your quote or invoice differs from this page, the written quote or invoice for that job controls.

1. Where we work

We come to homes and businesses in a listed set of ZIP codes around Charlotte: all of Mecklenburg County and parts of Cabarrus, Union, Iredell, Stanly and Anson counties in North Carolina, and of York and Lancaster counties in South Carolina. The service areas page has the details. We have no shop or counter for drop-offs; repairs happen where the appliance is.

2. How a repair is quoted and approved

  1. A technician visits, looks at the appliance and works out what has failed.
  2. We explain the problem and give you a quote for the repair.
  3. Nothing is repaired until you approve that quote. If we find something else partway through that would change the price, we stop and ask again.
  4. You can say no. If we think a repair isn’t worth the money compared with replacing the appliance, we will tell you.

Any figures you read or hear before the visit are not a price commitment. Only a quote given for your appliance after it has been looked at sets what you pay, and how and when payment is due is stated on that quote or invoice.

3. Parts

Parts are matched to the appliance’s model number. Where the maker still supplies the part, that is what we fit; if we use an equivalent, we say so before it goes in. When a part isn’t on hand we order it and come back to fit it. Delivery times are set by the supplier, and we can’t control backorders or discontinued parts.

4. We are independent

We are not an authorized service center for any manufacturer, and no brand sponsors or endorses us. Brand names on this site belong to their owners and are used only to say which appliances we work on. If your appliance is still covered by the maker’s warranty, contact the maker first, because a repair by an independent company may affect that coverage.

5. Coverage on our work

Repairs we complete come with a 90-day warranty on parts and 30-day warranty on labor. The coverage for each job is confirmed in writing on the invoice for that job. Apart from that warranty, nothing on this website promises how long a repaired appliance will last.

6. What we ask of you

  • Have an adult (18 or older) at the property for the visit.
  • Give the technician safe access to the appliance and room to work, including any gate codes, parking or building rules we need to know about.
  • Keep pets in another room or secured while we are there.
  • Tell us the brand and model number as accurately as you can, and describe the problem honestly. A wrong model number can mean the wrong part.
  • Let us know about anything hazardous before we arrive, such as a gas smell, standing water, mold or damaged wiring. A gas smell means everyone gets outside first; then phone your gas utility or 911 from there.
  • If you rent or the appliance belongs to someone else, make sure you are allowed to authorize the repair.

7. Rescheduling and cancelling

Plans change. If you need to move or cancel a visit, tell us as early as you can by replying to your confirmation, calling us or using the online form. We will also let you know if we have to reschedule on our side.

8. Limits on our liability

To the extent North Carolina law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with a repair is limited to the amount you paid us for that repair, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as spoiled food, lost income or the cost of eating out. We are also not responsible for wear, damage or defects that existed before our visit and were not caused by our work, or for problems caused by later use, misuse or work by someone else.

These limits do not apply to personal injury or property damage caused by our negligence or willful misconduct, or to any responsibility the law does not allow a business to limit.

9. Using this website

The articles and troubleshooting tips here are general information. Appliances differ, so follow your owner’s manual, switch off power, gas and water before checking anything, and leave anything involving gas connections, refrigerant tubing or energized wiring to a professional. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; we don’t control those sites. Please don’t misuse the site, submit false requests or try to interfere with how it works.

10. Text messages and privacy

Texts about your service are covered by our SMS terms, and personal information by our privacy policy.

11. Disagreements and governing law

If you are unhappy with a repair, tell us first and give us a fair chance to look at it again; most problems can be settled that way. North Carolina law governs these terms. A lawsuit over them or over our work belongs in a court sitting in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, except where a statute lets you file elsewhere.

12. Changes and the rest of the fine print

We may update these terms; the version posted here on the day you book applies to that job. If a court finds any part unenforceable, the rest still stands.
